Hello. :)
I'm Olivia, and this is the journal that houses my fic. It's mostly H/D, but there are the (very) occasional other pairings mixed in. A lot of the fic is sorted by universe and type in the 'memories' section of this journal, and *g* a lot of it isn't, yet. If you're looking for something particular, try the memories first, then page back through the entries, because it's the more recent stuff that hasn't been filed in the memories yet. (Or you can comment on this post and ask, and I'll link you to whatever it is you're seeking. fic: Full Spectrum, H/D, R
If you read this journal, you know it's my personal fic archive; I've been working to make it complete, and I realized that my favorite fic, "Full Spectrum", is not archived here. With "the end" of HP canon fast approaching, I thought the time might be opportune for me to fix that. :) Re: "Full Spectrum": if you've read it, thank you, from the center of my soul. If you haven't read it, and you're inclined to H/D and would like to humor me, give it a try. Either way, there are a few things about this fic you should know. :) Of all the fics I've written, this story is the one closest to my heart. It is, quite simply, my fondest hope for everything canon Draco Malfoy could be, and everything I would want for him. It took me just over two years to write (it's five chapters; I posted the first one on April 4, 2003 and the last on April 11, 2005) and I was truly humbled by the number of people who waited patiently for me to finish it. I absolutely put my heart and soul into this story. When I conceived the idea for the story, two things were crucial to me: First, I wanted Draco Malfoy make his own decision not to follow Voldemort, and that he make it based on the person he had become. This was a bit complicated, because it was also very important to me that this NOT be an easy choice. Specifically, I wanted Draco to love and respect his parents (and they, him) and for him to be happy at home, and hence to have the decision to not follow his father's path be one of enormous personal consequences. I didn't want Harry or Dumbledore or anyone, really, to be part of Draco's decision; I wanted it to come from him, for him to own it and wrestle with it and work for it and for it to absolutely help define who he grows into as an adult. Second, I wanted Draco and Harry be friends, genuinely friends, before anything romantic developed between them. Since Harry was to have no part in Draco's decision to leave home and not follow Voldemort, then their relationship—rocky at best—would have to come full circle. I felt that once Draco made his choice to join Dumbledore's group, it was unrealistic for romance to grow between Draco and Harry without first resolving their past history and putting it behind them. And let's face it: I'm a slasher at heart, and I wanted the two pretty boys to end up together, so I had to make all that other stuff happen if I wanted my happy ending. I posted it at her birthday community and linked to it at the time, but just realized that I never archived the fic here...so here it is. :P Quite some time ago, I wrote a fic called Drawn; this is a little snippet of that universe that takes place the next day.
